Coach Helle Nielsen’s training for Wipeout 2010!
Posted on 2009-December-20
A few weeks ago I was asked if I would participate in the action Tv show: Wipeout. It will be filmed in Argentina on the World’s largest obstacle course which I have to concur. We are 8 people from 3 Scandinavian countries who will battle against each other: Who can get through the obstacle course – not everyone can! – and who has the best time. The one obstacle is crazier than the other.
I just signed the contract with Nordisk film and I will travel to Argentina on january 7-15th. I am so excited to go and represent my sport, my country and of course myself as an athlete. I’ve started my training for Wipeout 2010 and you can follow my journey here on Evolutionhotel. I don’t have much time to get in shape so I’m working extra hard! I normally go to the gym 4 times a week and work out with weights. I don’t do any other kind of training. I’ve had to do some major changes to my daily life in order to get in shape for this great challenge.
I’ve taken up spin classes, box jumping, sprinting, balance training and much more. It amounts to 3 hours in the gym 6 times a week now. I’m on a strict diet as well consisting mostly of chicken, oats, brown rice, vegetables and protein shakes. New Years is cancelled because I don’t want to drink alcohol 7 days before the beginning of Wipeout and fish is on the menu. Perhaps you think this is a lot to do for being on a Tv show, but this is more than a Tv show – This is Wipeout! The world’s largest obstacle course!
If I do something I do it 100% or I don't do it at all. Wipeout here I come!
